"On Hands and Head to stand instead"
Thursday 14 march 2013 at 10:00
In this 3-hour workshop, you will learn more about and improve your techniques for inverted postures based on the Sivananda tradition.
In the beginning, inverted asanas like head- or handstand might look a bit difficult, but with the right technique and training, it is possible to balance your body the other way around. In a small group, Claudia will correct each of you and help you to be more and more aware of your inner balance and strength.
Please make sure that you do not have neck problems, high blood pressure or high intraocular pressure.
In your yoga practice, you should at least be able to do the shoulderstand - Sarvangasana - without any problems.
This workshop will be similar to the one in November 2012.

Style: Sivananda Yoga
Sivananda yoga is for the student seeking inner tranquility and centeredness. In a Sivananda class, we start with conscious breathing exercises to tune inward then the sun salutation, a cardio-vascular exercise, to warm up. This is followed by 12 core postures to channel and concentrate vital energy. A guided relaxation is done at the end and brings about the overall sense of harmony and well-being one feels after class. Regardless of whether a student comes into class tired or stressed, the balanced nature of the Sivananda sequence renders the student calm and lucid. Go to the Sivananda yoga page.
Teacher: Claudia Schlegel
Receiving her yoga teaching certification in 2002 and meditation teaching certification in 2005, Claudia would like to help her students develop a proper sense of their physical body in order for them to access the more subtle inner self. This would enable a greater possibility for spiritual awakening to take place. Go to Claudia's page.
