Yoga La Source

Kirtan chanting

Thursday 14 march 15:00 - 16:30

In yoga, there are many paths to a state of expanded consciousness. Bhakti yoga is the path that accesses and sublimates all emotion to that of love and devotion. Kirtan is the Bhakti yoga practice of mantra chanting with music accompaniment.

Claudia Schlegel will lead a program of kirtan which will run from 15h00 to 16h30. Tea will be served afterward for those wishing to stay and socialize.

Registration

The program is free, but we would like to know who is coming. Please fill out the form here.

Many thanks for a delightful Sunday afternoon - the chanting and soup soothed my soul and I smiled all the way home and remained smiling all night :-) - P.A. 11/21/2011

Style: Kirtan

Originating from ancient Indian traditions, mantras are mystical powers encased in a sound structure. They carry vibrational power that calms the nervous system, shifts emotional states, and cultivates inner stillness. They are repeated to focus the mind, uplift energy, and connect with deeper states of awareness. Through call-and-response mantra chanting, Kirtan invites us to quiet the mind, ground in the present moment, and move beyond the ego. Kirtan creates a powerful sense of connection within ourselves, with each other, and with the Divine, the Universe, or Universal Consciousness —whatever name resonates most. Through practices like mantra, kirtan, prayer, and loving service, Bhakti Yoga offers a way to transcend the ego and experience liberation through devotion, trust, and the opening of the heart. Teacher: Claudia Schlegel

Claudia Schlegel Claudia started yoga in 1998 while studying physiotherapy and learned how integrating yoga with physiotherapy affected the body much better than physiotherapy alone. She received her yoga teaching certification in 2002 and meditation teaching certification in 2005. Claudia would like to help her students develop a proper sense of their physical body in order for them to access the more subtle inner self. This would enable a greater possibility for spiritual awakening to take place. Go to Claudia's page.
