Yoga La Source

Sanskrit & Vedic Chanting

Monday 28 may 09:00 - 16:30

Vivek Nath brings to life the language of Sanskrit, its mysteries and logic in a way that opens up a whole new world. He is very vital and precise, honoring the tradition he learned from his uncle, considered a saint from the city of Varanasi.

Laura Masi, a fellow yoga teacher, organized a Vedic chanting workshop with Vivek last year here in Luxembourg with Jocelyne Duchesne. We found it so excellent that we wanted to help get the word out when Laura arranged another one for this year.

Last year, Vivek taught us about the "5 organs of pronounciation" which make chanting the Sanskrit alphabet and Vedic chants a very powerful experience.

Laura describes the workshop as follows:

Sanskrit is the language of consciousness, of the Indian Yogis and Gods. Mantra is their old revelation, practice and form.

This weekend is an introductory seminar to Vedic Chanting as taught by the Indian traditions and promoted by the yoga tradition of Krishnamacharya from Chennai.

We will start on a beginner level and move to its highest, the experience of an unfold state of consciousness as further taught by the Shaivism of Kashmir, the great philosophy on mantra.

Reciting mantras uplifts our consciousness and serves to practice yogic awareness. Bringing down these teachings into a modern language with actual practice, this is a unique opportunity to learn more about yoga, one’s own voice and self.
