Yoga & Theory: Hatha Yoga Pradipika

Practice kriyas, bandas, mudras, postures, pranayama, nidra, and meditation. After, a brief exploration into the Hatha Yoga Pradipika to come into the sense of the origins of these yogic practices.

If you are interested to follow the class with a late dinner at Swagat, an Indian restaurant 300m from the center, please let us know. As the program ends at 20:30, a reservation would be made for 20:45 if there will be at least three interested by Friday 14:00.
Style: Yoga: Practice & Theory
This weekly course takes you through 90 minutes of basic yoga postures, breathing practices, guided relaxation, mantra and meditation and 30 minutes of yoga theory to deepen your understanding of yoga. You will immediately feel the tangible benefits of yoga on a physical, emotional, mental and energetic level and also learn about hatha yoga, kundalini shakti, prana, chakras, Samkhya philosophy, Patanjali's Raja Yoga, and various other yogas and philosophical teachings that can lead to joyful living. While it would be best to start at the beginning of the term, students can start at any time as the practice will remain suitable for all, beginner and ongoing student alike, and each theoretical topic will stand on its own. Teacher: Fredric Bender
Fredric has been teaching yoga for 30 years and has been co-director of Centre de Yoga - La Source since 1995. He started yoga in 1987 and took the Sivananda teachers training in 1990. Due to his own back injuries before yoga, he developed a sequence of yoga variations that form the cornerstone of his popular lower back yoga program. In 2006, he organized and completed a 4-year 500-hour teacher training program in the Nidrā Yoga of Kashmir Shaivism with André Riehl which was completed in 2010. Featured on the cover of Luxembourg's Revue Magazine for an interview on yoga meditation and invited to lead meditation programs at Fortune 500 companies' global retreats.
