Lower back yoga
Registration
Calendar
This course is taught in English.
Style
Lower back yoga
Lower back yoga strengthens and stretches all muscles that are responsible for a healthy, vital spine in a way that minimizes stress and compression to the lumbar discs. The exercises are done in a slow, steady rhythm so that one develops a heightened awareness of all the sensations within the body. This allows one to experience the deeply relaxing benefits of yoga. Due to the gentle and focused nature of this course, it is also beneficial for those who are currently not involved in any active exercise program but wish to start. More details
Teacher
Lorien Mate

Lorien dabbled in Hatha yoga in the 1990s, but it wasn’t until she was told by an orthopaedic surgeon in 2001 that she could have a third back surgery OR do yoga that she started taking a serious interest in it. The interest deepened over time until finally she received her Yoga Siromani teaching certificate in 2011 from the Sivananda Ashram in Neyyar Dam, India. She has been teaching ever since. She continues to deepen her knowledge of yoga through regular teacher trainings and study with more experienced practitioners in the tradition of yoga. More details
