Viniyoga class - Meditation on the Breath Practice

Wednesday 11 june 10:45 - 12:00

Nadine Maes is giving four 75-minute Viniyoga classes over four consecutive Saturdays (May 24 - June 14) to introduce students to this practice that comes through the lineage of Krishnamacharya. All four classes include either dynamic or calming postures with an emphasis on a particular theme.

The fourth Saturday on June 14th, 10:45-12:00, Nadine will teach a Viniyoga class with an emphasis on meditation on the breath. Meditation involves focusing the mind to gain control over its activity and to tap into deeper experiences of oneself. This class includes calming postures, breathing techniques, and visualizations where the focus will be on the breath and its movement through the body.

This program is full, but you are welcome to wait-list yourself in case of cancellation: Please wait-list yourself via the GoogleDocs form. If we find a place for you, you can either use a credit from a canceled class or pay 15 Euros.

The other Saturdays are as follows:

May 24th, 10:45-12:00 Brahmana Practice

May 31st, 10:45-12:00 Langhana Practice

June 7th, 10:45-12:00 Pranayama Practice

Style: Viniyoga

What characterises Viniyoga is the connection between the breath and the movement. This synchronization enables the practitioner to cultivate a long and deep breathing rhythm which has a calming effect on the mind and leads to peace and serenity in daily life. With the help of different techniques, the attention is continually directed to this connection, while keeping the sequence of movements easy. As a consequence, everyone can practice Viniyoga independent of age, physical condition, or the time dedicated to the practice. Go to the Viniyoga page.
